This website isn't about just one record producer, it's about hundreds of music producers. Just some of the questions that we ask include:
What motivates them? How do they get the best from a musician? How did they get their first break? How do they network? What are their secret techniques? What equipment do they depend on? How do they find work? How has their workflow changed? Show us how you work. Show us your recording and mixing methods. Help explain how others should get in to the industry. What inspires you?
Some of the features will look at recording techniques or recording equipment. Some will be a look back at amazing production careers. Most will pass on useful nuggets of information that can possibly help you make even better records. In all cases you can get an understanding of the character and many, many musicians have found a producer or engineer to work with by watching these videos.
The only problem is that with so many producer video interviews, you could be here for some time! We really hope that you find this site useful and welcome feedback, good or bad via or Twitter feed or Facebook Page.
We are always looking for new and interesting record producers and recording engineers to feature. Don't worry if you're not a multi Grammy winning producer (yet). If you're interesting, have ideas to share, have been working on anything interesting or simply want to get a bit more exposure just drop us a line!
As the changes in the music industy keep picking up in speed the thing that matters most of all is making great sounding music. We may make less money in the recording business than it was possible in the 70's and 80's but it is now possible to make a good living working in a range of genres from metal to folk to classical music. We want to cover every genre of music production.

At the foot of the page are links to the oldest features, many are from when the internet was young and people had to use modems so they will be small and jerky but the information is still useful end engaging. New production methods and recording ideas keep springing up, we try to help pass the best recording and mixing techniques to you.
We film and edit these features in spare time with limited budgets but so long as people are inspired by great sounding records and are wanting to learn, to share tips and be better record producers we will keep going! |
