About this site

Did you know that this site started in 1999 and was one of the very first websites in the World to feature videos? Here's a little about the contributors:

	Nick Poortman spent a few years working in the UK alongside engineers including Clint Murphy before returning home to New Zealand. He has since moved to L.A. and has been been busy recording stacks of great new features there so hopefully, if you're out there, you can have him visit you!

	Clint Murphy, like Russ Cottier, started out as an interviewee but has proved to be a brilliant contributor. As an engineer and producer he is very current with all aspects of production and with awards stacking up we hope that he doesn't become 'too busy' to do more features!

	Mike Exeter has been a fantastic driving force helping propel RP from long format interviews - which are still great - to shorter more focused features. This has been a big success and Mike can be seen on many of the newer features. We aren't sure how he finds time, being a bit 'in-demand'!
	Claris Sayadian-Dodge, pictured here with legendary Al Schmitt, has been an outstanding contributor covering mostly the West Coast US from way back in the early days of RP. Away from managing producers she's busy running StudioExpresso.

	Russell Cottier started life on RP as an interviewee but has gone on to record many excellent features over what seems like ten years. He is a very busy recording engineer / producer and is as at home with a folk band as with a metal band. Russ also write for Resolution magazine.

George Shilling has been recording features for this site for 16 years. George is super busy as a record producer, musician, arranger, studio owner and journalist writing for Resolution magazine. Possibly the busiest person we know but still makes time to record features :-)

Nigel Jopson. Nigel, pictured with legendary producer Ken Scott, has been an engaging interviewer. Nigel is an engineer, producer and is now editor of Resolution magazine.     Phil English has helped with several interviews and produced the occasional and now 'resting' RP Full English Podcast. In addition to his work here, Phil is a producer and recording engineer who has escaped the UK to more Stateside - we've not heard from him since...!     Scott Mathews. Scott has been a big help in making our videos that much better by providing excellent intro music and we can't thank him enough for his work in making the LA scene coverage that much better by his kind access to his contacts. Scott's feature is here - we hope to get back over and feature more of his contacts soon.       Jack Hale, pictured here in the studio has been a HUGE help in making Nashville and Memphis get on to the site, sadly we've not done many in the recent years. Jack has been an amazingly warm and helpful guy - we can't thank him enough for all of his kind and selfless work in making so many excellent features possible. Thanks Jack!   Mike Banks this site's webmaster is the person that throws this site together in the wee small hours and he films and edits virtually every video feature too. Mike is seen here at Metropolis Studios with George Shilling - photo taken nearly 20 years ago before they both went bald and before George subsequently discovered his miracle hair grow compound.

RecordProduction.com is free, it costs nothing to be included. You can also help contribute by sending us your pictures, video or reviews AND add a link to us.

This website doesn't make money and is the work of a growing group of producers, engineers, musicians and studio owners who want to help promote new and established talent. Everything is done on a non-existant budget and for that reason donations, sponsorships or gifts of equipment or help is always appreciated!

All features here are FREE but if you'd like any of our photographs to be used by you for other purposes, e.g. your website or for magazine use, an agreed fee for those pictures will be paid in advance to cover costs and contribute to the site.

If you're a record producer, recording studio, engineer or musician there is no cost to be featured either with links, photo session or a full video feature! Feel free to make a donation to help with production costs but it's up to you. By being featured you will receive substantial interest so why wait? Contact us with as much information as possible and we will reply as soon as we can.

If you have problems watching our older (vintage even) videos download the latest Quick Time 7 codec but we are gradually switching all videos over to a new player that works on all platforms and can be played in HD plus Full Screen in gorgeous 4k. This is an ongoing process and will take years to complete due to the numbers of videos.

We want to cover more areas and getting to areas some distance away costs money, so if you are in the States for example and would like us to visit, just send us a ticket and we will be over. Maybe get together with a few other producers or studios and chip in.
